Sleeping is about the only time she is still, she loves to move all over, pulls herself up and walks along whatever she can. She has started to stand in the middle of the room (I will get it on video/camera) She crawls all over and likes to get underfoot. We love her and are so glad she is part of our family!!

9 month check up
Today I took Miss M in to the Dr. She needed her 9 month check, great thing NO shots!!! She is 14 lbs 1.5 oz. Wahoo!!! I can't believe she is 9 months. I have to admit I enjoy small babies, I know many like the chunky squishy and they are adorable, but I would rather cart a light baby around.

Monday errands
Mondays can be SO busy, I usually end up running errands and today was no exception. we have to start out with the "fun" errand. Our Library does a summer program. I decided this year to enroll the kids. They have to read 90 minutes a week to be entered into a drawing, once they hit 300 minutes they get prizes, then 500 minutes then 1000 minutes. My kids got their 300 minutes and are just shy the 500 minutes. But hey this is week 3 of reading so I am counting on them doing what they need to. They also get a book at 300 minutes, makes it well worth the $5 per kid!!! There is also some summer fun days, today was chalk day, they got to color all over the sidewalk and little patio at the library. They had a bunch of fun. It is also an excuse to get out of the house and they are able to go get new books weekly. Today they took longer because next week it is the city celebration (Steele Days) so the library won't be open. I wanted them to get enough books to last 2 weeks. That can be hard since we can only get up to 40 books for 6 of us.
Each kid with their book and prize

Then all the "boring" errands, like getting groceries and other things I need to do. I like to try to do this on Monday because the rest of my weeks gets so busy with Scouts, presidency meeting and who knows what else.
We are excited for next week since it is the 4th of July and we get to have a 3 day weekend with dad and have some fun. The kids are looking forward to fireworks, a slumber party at Grandmas, breakfast on the 4th and fun all day long just playing and having fun.
We are excited for July since there will be some fun stuff going on, but sad because that means that summer is coming to an end. I admit at first I was not excited for summer, it is a lot harder doing my calling with all the kids home. But now most of the time we are enjoying some fun times. The other bad things is how HOT it is. It is so hard to get outside and play with how hot it is but we try to do a little outside.
So that is our Monday.
And here is Miss M being a ham for the camera

Homemade Fried Chicken
This is what I made for dinner

Fried Chicken. It was so good! If you want to make it here is the recipe I use:
2 cups flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or chili
mix together in a container, I like to put in a pie pan or smaller 9x9 type pan
1 cup milk
1 egg
mix together
Dip chicken in milk mixture, then dip in flour mixture. At this point you have 2 options, you can redip in the milk and flour (so there will be 2 coats) or just fry.
Put oil in pan, fry to desired doneness, I like mine just a little brown. Flip over and cook other side. I finish mine off in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until the chicken has reached 160, then pull out and let rest (it will continue cooking and reach 165) Enjoy with desired side dishes

This is the Place
We went to This is the Place on Wednesday with some of my family. It was hot but so much fun. We have a pass so it is great because they can ride the mini train as much as they want. So they ended up riding it about 6-8 times just before we left. I didn't get pictures I was busy dealing with Millie. They also get to do 3 other activities. They made arrow head necklaces and dug for gold and gems (the gems cost a $1 per kid but that works because that is their souvenir).
They have a "Big" train that have 4 stops and helps you get around. Here are a few pictures as we were headed to a stop to check out some stuff.

Carissa & Tessa, best buddies

Dallin trying to act cool, not realizing I took a picture :)

Aleana talking to cousin Madi

Millie enjoying the ride
Then we headed to the area where you can pan for gold, Dig for gems, do the mini train ride, play on the pirate ship and more

I didn't get pictures of Dallin as he was off running around playing. The girls love their gold they panned for and the gems they got. Dallin tried for the large gems but didn't find any and was upset because he didn't get very many gems. Oh well, better luck next time dude!
We can't wait to go again. Hopefully we can go at least one more time this summer!!

Millie
She does this cute crawl (she just started crawling "normal").....
She says dada and mama, loves playing with toys and anything else she can get her hands on.....
She enjoys being outside, and is okay being in a stroller as long as it is moving. :)
She is growing up way to fast. She loves to eat vanilla wafers and baby food as long as it has fruit in it.

I'm so grateful to be her mom and that she is part of our family! Can't see what mischief you get in little one :)

Father's Day
There are so many important men in my life. My husband who is a great father and husband. He sacrifices so much for us. He works hard so I can stay at home with the kids. He loves his job and that helps. He loves me and the kids so much.
My dad, who helps us in so many ways. He comes over and helps me figure things out and fix things in the house. He helps us when we have car trouble. And helped raise me to be who I am today.
My Father-in-law who raised my husband to be the man he is today.
My Grandpa Walker who is a great man and such a great influence on us.
I am so glad we live close so we can see these great men regularly and they can help influence my children.
I am the Relief Society President in my ward for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The ward I am in has never in at last 45 years given out Father's Day gifts. When I was put in and as Father's Day came closer I felt we needed to change that. So with help, I came up with this gift idea

This is a sugar cookie, cut into the shape of a drill. Here are other other cookie cutters we used.

It was great, I had some sisters help me make sugar cookies then we packaged them into the bag with the tag "Oh Ye Builders of a Nation" on it. I love how they turned out. I already have plans for next year. Then we will see if I am still in after that.
There were enough extras that I was able to give some to my Dad, Father-in-law and Grandpa. My kids have also enjoyed eating the leftovers for treats for the last couple of days.
Happy Father's Day (a little late) to all the wonderful men out there who influence us in many ways!!

A New Beginning
There is another blog, it has been so long I am not sure when the last time I posted. I thought maybe I can start again and since I can't remember the other one, I would really start over. With 6 kids I feel I miss so much. I don't journal very well, so I hope to figure a way out to post regularly and "journal" at the same time.
So to begin, We are the Curley's. There are 8 of us. My husband and I have been married since Sept 2003. We have 6 crazy kids. This will be our crazy life story!!
There is so much I have missed, but starting from here.....
Last Tuesday, June 14 was Flag Day. Our city had a ceremony to dedicate a Memorial Garden and a new section of the cemetery. Along with that they had a 120' flag pole they had added. They wanted scouts to come help with the flag. Dallin decided he wanted to participate. Here are a couple of pictures and a video of that experience.
